Swapcard alternatives for trade shows in North Africa and the Middle East
Looking at Swapcard alternatives? What Swapcard offers according to its own site, and what to compare when your show runs in Algeria or the Arab world.
By Moultaka team

Most lists of Swapcard alternatives are written for conferences in Europe and North America. If your trade show runs in Algeria, elsewhere in North Africa or in the Arab world, the comparison turns on other things: how local visitors pay online, how stand sales are run, which languages your forms speak and how foreign exhibitors get their visas. Swapcard is a broad platform built for exhibitions and large conferences. The useful question is not which tool is best, but which one fits the way your show is sold and run.
What Swapcard offers, in its own words
Everything below was read on swapcard.com on 31 October 2026, on the pages « Trade show management software », « Registration and onsite access », « Interactive floor plan » and « Exhibitor management portal ». No reviews, no prices, nothing second-hand.
- Registration and onsite: forms, ticketing and payments, self check-in with badge printing, access control for sessions and zones.
- Networking: AI recommendations and matchmaking, and a hosted buyer programme that matches buyers and sellers by their preferences.
- Mobile: an event app on iOS and Android, branded for the organiser.
- Exhibitors: a portal where exhibitors handle their registration, invoices, logistics, teams and tasks, which the page describes as a self-service portal for exhibitions and large conferences with 100+ exhibitors.
- Floor plan: an interactive map for visitor wayfinding, sponsor visibility, and booth reservation and sales (real-time availability, hold status, sold booths).
- Content and data: agenda, speakers, live and pre-recorded streaming, analytics, data export and API sync.
- Payments: the registration page lists Stripe, Payflow Pro, Braintree, CyberSource and invoicing.
- Languages: multilingual events, with session titles and exhibitor profiles translated in its admin tool. The swapcard.com site itself is in English.
- Security: SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certifications.
It is a complete offer. If your show looks like the large international events it describes, it deserves a close look.
Four things that change the comparison in this region
Running a show in Algiers, Oran or elsewhere in the region brings constraints that generic comparisons skip:
- local visitors and many exhibitors pay in local currency, with local cards;
- your audience reads Arabic and French as well as English, so forms and emails must work right to left;
- most of the revenue is made on stand sales, months before the doors open;
- national pavilions and foreign delegations need invitation letters for their visas.
These are where an event platform saves your team weeks per edition, or costs them.
Online payment for local participants
The payment options Swapcard lists are international gateways. Whichever vendor you meet, ask it plainly: « how will my Algerian participants pay online, in dinars, with the card they carry? »
In Moultaka, when an organiser sells registrations, sessions or services to its participants, online payment is processed by SATIM with CIB and Edahabia cards, the two card schemes used in Algeria; card data are entered on SATIM’s page and never reach us. For exhibitors coming from abroad, stands can be priced in foreign currencies.
Stand sales, where the revenue is
In Swapcard, booth reservation is part of the interactive floor plan. Moultaka starts from the sales team: a CRM built for selling exhibition space, where every company, inquiry and deal is linked to the stand it concerns.
You draw halls, stands and aisles, then sell from the floor plan itself. Each stand shows its status, its exhibitor and its price, and every change is visible to the whole team at once. Past exhibitors are ranked by how likely they are to come back, so the team calls the right ones first. Our guide on how to sell exhibition space walks through the method.
The demo request worth making to every vendor: « show me one stand going from available to on hold to sold, and what my colleague sees at that moment ».
Foreign exhibitors and their visas
If your show hosts national pavilions or trade delegations, invitation letters become a job of their own. In Moultaka, visa letters for foreign exhibitors are processed step by step, invitation letters issued and passport dates checked. Visitors and delegations travelling from abroad get the same flow at registration.
The rest of the exhibitor file sits on one record: stand, contract, logo, team, orders and documents, with completeness measured so you only chase what is really missing. With any vendor, ask to see a foreign exhibitor’s whole journey, from stand request to invitation letter.
Arabic, French and English
Swapcard advertises multilingual events and content translation in its tool. In Moultaka, reminders, sequences and workflows go out in each recipient’s language, and moultaka.app itself reads in English, French and Arabic.
One test is worth more than any feature list: ask to see your registration form in Arabic, right to left, and the confirmation email the visitor will receive.

Fill it in with every vendor you meet, in their demo and on your own show rather than a prepared example. Our list of questions to ask before a trade show software demo covers the rest.
One database for the whole show
Moultaka brings twelve products onto one database, in the order your show runs: from the first stand sold to the last report sent. You can start with what your show needs first, stand sales or visitor registration, and add the others later on the data already there. Data are kept apart for each organiser, and access is set by role.
More than 14 trade show editions, 165,000 registrations and 1,700 exhibitors have gone through Moultaka, in Algiers and Oran among others.
In short
- Swapcard covers a large international show broadly; its site is precise, read it.
- For a show in North Africa or the Arab world, compare local payment, stand sales, visas and Arabic first.
- Have every vendor fill in the same grid, on your show.
- If you switch, do it between two editions: the right moment is the day after closing.
