All of e-commerce under one roof
ECSEL Expo is the e-commerce and online services show that Global Exhibition Company runs in Algiers. It bills itself as the biggest of its kind in Africa, and its website sums up the idea in a single line: it brings together “in one place the players who imagine, fund, build and use the digital solutions of tomorrow”.
Any company, startup, institution or organisation whose offer touches e-commerce, digital, technology, logistics, electronic payment, marketing, online services or innovation can ask for a stand. The site sorts its exhibitors into six families: commerce and e-commerce, finance and payment, tech and digital, marketing and media, industry and packaging, services and logistics. Visitors come to compare software, logistics, payment methods, digital marketing and marketplaces, and to meet distributors, brands, service providers, startups and experts.
2022: betting on a young market
It all started in Algiers in 2022. The show’s site is candid about the challenge: launching a show for a sector that was “still young and sometimes misunderstood”. About sixty exhibitors answered the call, over 22,000 visitors walked the aisles, and the first conferences were packed. “We felt that something new was being born,” some said from the first hours of opening.
By 2023, the public was already expecting ECSEL Expo as a yearly event. Its poster set the dates for 20 to 24 September, at the Palais des Expositions in Pins Maritimes. Over 92 exhibitors, professional visitors, a fuller conference programme and workshops in high demand: the site counts 40,000 visitors for that edition. As one visitor put it: “I came to discover, I’m leaving with partners.”

2024: leaving Algiers, then coming back bigger
In May 2024, ECSEL Expo left Algiers for the first time. In Oran it took a new name for a test run, ECO ORAN: a pilot edition, “a laboratory”, in the organiser’s words. The local public turned out, with 5,500 visitors, 54 exhibitors, 12 conferences and 16 panels. “Why wait for Algiers to exist?” a local entrepreneur asked.
In October the show returned to the capital for what the site calls “an XL edition”: over 130 exhibitors, record attendance, a national hackathon, a talks programme and new masterclasses, over four days at SAFEX. The site quotes the minister: “ECSEL EXPO The largest e-commerce and online services show in Africa”.
2025: one show, three cities
In February 2025, ECSEL Expo went back to Oran, this time under its own name: more than 60 exhibitors, 6,500 visitors, 12 workshops, and companies from Algiers, Mostaganem and Tlemcen. “Oran has found its place on the digital map,” a speaker remarked.
In May it was the East’s turn. In Sétif, the site counts 9,000 visitors and 60 exhibitors. From the opening, queues stretched out; students, entrepreneurs and local brands crossed paths, and the masterclasses were full. With Algiers, Oran and Sétif, the organiser describes its vision as “connecting territories, valuing local innovation and building a united digital ecosystem”.

Conferences, a hackathon and the Grand Contest
Around the stands, the programme mixes conferences and panels with executives and experts, short talks in a “flash conference” format, hands-on masterclasses, demonstrations and targeted networking. The show also has its own podcast, on YouTube.
The hackathon, already on the 2024 programme, runs for 48 hours non-stop during the show: teams of two to five people take on a concrete brief set by partners, then present their solution to a jury of experts and investors.
The Grand Contest lets the public decide. In 2025, three exhibitors won: Fennec Booking for the best stand, Confirmoo for the best e-commerce solution and Algerian Holistic Center for the best online service.
The Algiers 2025 edition, on Moultaka
The fourth Algiers edition took place from 15 to 18 October 2025, in the Pavillon Central at SAFEX. Its poster carried two names, Global Exhibition Company and Algeria Exhibitions, a subsidiary of the SAFEX group, and one claim: “The biggest e-commerce expo in Africa”.
For four days, the pavilion gathered online sellers, marketplaces, delivery and logistics companies, and the electronic payment players that make the whole chain work. Talks and demonstrations ran alongside the stands, around the three pillars of the trade: payment, logistics and digital services. The edition’s conferences can be watched again on the show’s YouTube channel.
ECSEL Expo ran this edition on Moultaka.
