The story

MODEVENT Agency, from concept to completion

HOSTEX Expo is organised by MODEVENT Agency, a communication, events and direct marketing agency. It puts its mission in one line: “to turn every vision into an unforgettable experience”. The agency works on corporate events of every kind, trade shows, conventions, product launches, award ceremonies, meetings and company celebrations, and handles each one from the first idea to the last day.

Its team is organised in four departments under a general management: commercial and marketing, artistic and design, production and logistics, administration and finance. On its website, the agency lists HOSTEX Expo among its work, describing it as full event management: stand design, logistics and on-site coordination.

The whole hospitality chain under one roof

Its organiser calls it the International Hospitality & Restaurant Trade Fair; its banner, in French, the international show of hotel, restaurant and services equipment. HOSTEX Expo covers hospitality, foodservice, design, wellness and gastronomy, and sets out to gather the key players across that value chain: hoteliers, restaurant professionals, architects, designers, manufacturers, distributors, startups and institutions.

The stands fall into twelve sectors: hospitality and accommodation, restaurants and catering, decoration and interior design, technologies and services, materials and equipment, bedding and linen, wellness, leisure and spas, hygiene and maintenance, food and drinks, sound and lighting, training, and startups and innovation.

The visitors it is built for are professionals: hotel owners and managers, restaurant owners and managers, gym and spa owners, chefs, food and beverage professionals, supply companies, fit-out contractors, housekeeping services, system integrators, architects and project managers.

A push to modernise hotels, restaurants and cafés

The organiser presents HOSTEX as a driving force for the modernisation of the HORECA sector in Algeria, in answer to five global shifts. Digital services: smart management, AI in the guest experience, automated operations. Sustainability: energy-efficient equipment and better use of resources and waste. Personalisation and branding, from hotel design to brand storytelling. Wellness and immersive experiences. And training, through masterclasses, culinary competitions and workshops.

The show is meant as a B2B meeting place for decision-makers, buyers, consultants and project leaders. It aims to encourage public-private partnerships, to highlight Algerian and international expertise, in gastronomy, hotel design and MICE services in particular, and to give local brands a launchpad abroad.

Why Oran, and why its convention centre

The organiser sees Oran as a strategic hub for Algerian tourism, with modern hotels, its coastline and a lively cultural scene, reached from abroad through Ahmed Ben Bella Airport and the sea links. The show’s website points out that “more than 40% of tourism projects are concentrated in the cities of Algiers and Oran, with a total of 388 projects in these two cities alone.” Holding the show in Oran is also, in its words, a driver of decentralisation that showcases the country’s regional economic centres.

The show takes place at the Mohammed Ben Ahmed Convention Centre. The organiser chose it for its modular halls, its audiovisual equipment, its large exhibition areas and its capacity for thousands of visitors, with hotels close by.

Four days, four meeting points

The first edition took place on 21–24 January 2026, Wednesday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm, under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts. Around the stands, the show sets out four meeting points.

Les Tables des Chefs is a culinary space devoted to Algeria’s food scene, with cooking shows, masterclasses and tastings led by chefs, culinary schools and brands. HostexTalk is the conference and workshop programme, on tech and digital, sustainable design, wellness and the changing professions, through expert panels, keynotes and interactive sessions for hoteliers, architects, restaurateurs and technology providers.

Hostex Broadcast carries the show beyond the venue: live interviews, behind-the-scenes content and daily highlights, shared on social media, YouTube and the official website. The Business Lounge, last, is open only to exhibitors, institutional partners and sponsors. Designed for B2B talks, negotiations and investment, it offers private meeting pods and a concierge service.

The show’s website, connected to Moultaka

HOSTEX Expo has its own website, hostexpo.org, in French, English and Arabic: exhibitors book a stand there, visitors register there. On the Visit page, for instance, the “Registration for HOSTEX” form is served by Moultaka, in all three of the site’s languages.

Every registration lands straight in the team’s workspace, one record per person, with nothing typed twice. HOSTEX Expo ran on Moultaka from its first edition, in January 2026.
