The people who train, the people who hire
FormaTech Expo fits in one line, the signature its organiser, SARL Formatic Expo, gave the show: “Transforming skills to reinvent professions”. At a time when artificial intelligence is redefining jobs and organisations, the show sets out to make skills the first lever of Algeria’s economic and professional transformation.
To get there, it brings together the public and private players of training, vocational education, HR and innovation. “From EdTech startups to large industrial groups, from independent trainers to government ministries”, the organiser writes, all converge toward a single goal: advancing skills in Algeria. Three aims shape every edition: understanding the changes under way, building the skills those changes call for, and getting companies, training institutions, startups and public authorities to work together.
A first edition, in October 2025
The first edition took place in Algiers from 6 to 9 October 2025. Over four days, the organiser counts 78 exhibiting companies and organisations, more than 60 speakers and more than 11,000 professional visitors, on more than 2,500 m² of exhibition space, with more than 63 sessions of workshops, panels and conferences.
The launch was held under the high patronage of five ministries: Vocational Training and Education; the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises; Environment and Quality of Life; Tourism and Handicrafts; and Youth. It was also placed under the aegis of the National Observatory of Civil Society and the High Council for Youth. Government representatives attended from the opening ceremony, and more than 50 Algerian media covered the show on site, across television, radio, print and online. Three sponsors, Yalidine Express, ANEP and Algérie Télécom, and a mobility partner, Yassir, supported this first edition.

The whole skills ecosystem
Visitors are professionals: decision-makers in digital transformation and AI, HR and talent development managers, trainers, entrepreneurs and AI project leaders, and people retraining or building new skills. Entry is free with a badge, requested online before the visit.
Across the aisles are the exhibitors: schools and institutes specialised in AI, data and digital, reskilling and upskilling providers, AI and EdTech startups, learning platforms, technology companies and HR firms. A Startup Area is set aside for young AI and EdTech companies to pitch, run demonstrations and meet visitors.
Four days to learn, show and debate
The programme follows six pillars: how AI is changing professions; skills and employability; the transformation of training systems; emerging professions; the ethics and governance of AI; and Algeria facing AI skills and professions. Each is explored in conferences and keynotes, panels and round tables, and hands-on workshops on AI tools applied to training. Scheduled meetings connect exhibitors, visitors and institutions.
Three events set the show’s pace. FormaTech Innovators, co-organised with Makers Lab, a certified incubator based in Oran, showcases projects that use AI to reinvent training and professions: the selected candidates, all at prototype stage, pitch their solution to a jury and an audience of professionals. The professional public speaking contest, new this year, pits two candidates against each other on a question drawn by lot, one defending the thesis and the other the antithesis, up to the final on 15 October 2026. And experts put forward masterclasses: a conference, a hands-on workshop, a panel or a hybrid session.

The second edition, in Pavilion A at SAFEX
The second edition opens on 12 October 2026 in Pavilion A of the Palais des Expositions, at Pins Maritimes, for four days. It is held under the patronage of five ministries: Vocational Training and Education; the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises; Post and Telecommunications; Youth; and Higher Education and Scientific Research. The organiser announces more than 90 exhibitors and expects more than 11,000 professional visitors.
The pavilion is laid out in areas: the entrance and registration, the visitors’ first point of contact; the conference room for plenary sessions; the main stage for keynotes and panels; the Startup Area; a VIP Lounge where decision-makers meet; and a restaurant for informal talks. Stands near the entrance, the stage and the conference room see the most traffic. The official opening starts the show on the morning of 12 October.
Moultaka, the show’s technology partner
FormaTech Expo has its own website, formatechexpo.dz: visitors register there for their badge, exhibitors ask for a stand, and candidates send in their applications for the contests and the masterclasses. On its 2026 sponsors and partners page, the show lists Moultaka among its technology partners.
Moultaka has worked with FormaTech Expo since its first edition, in 2025, and is with it again for the second.
